Title: Independent Probabilities.
Medium: Steel, Perspex, acrylic print.

This artwork comprises six independent images hung from a steel frame. Each artist provided three images which were transferred onto Perspex grounds. Hung, one behind the other, each piece stands alone but may also be maneuvered by the viewer to combine with one or more of the other five pieces to create a finite series of further images.

Probability theory and the concept of independence in the rolling of two balanced, six sided, die allows for the calculation of the number of possible combinations as 36.

The images used by both artists portray six strong women, some familial and some historical, in whose lives chance has played a significant role.
