Deirdre Kearney BCL MA – Visual Artist

Completing an MA, Art in the Contemporary World, at NCAD, Dublin, in 2016 Deirdre Kearney also holds a Law Degree from University College, Dublin, Ireland and is a qualified solicitor.

Deirdre Kearney’s practice combines various artistic disciplines and media as well as working collaboratively with other artists.  Taking part in many group exhibitions, as well as six solo shows, Deirdre’s work explores the notion of truth. Her paintings trace a line from witnessing to memory and from there to the surface of the canvas. Given the myriad possibilities for the distortion of the visual process Deirdre’s practice questions the underlying legitimacy of received truths given the potential for contamination by external forces.

Deirdre’s work is held in many private and public collections both in Ireland and abroad.
